I prefer writing this kind of post in English...
So on Saturday (17/8) I started feeling more fatigue and had headache for almost the whole day. My temperature spiked a bit but not concerning enough considering I had it up to 37.1 before then it just goes away. After that on Sunday I felt a bit better but I stayed home and at night the headache and fever came back. On Monday the cycle came back, better in the morning but still having mild fever and headache for the rest of the day.
Now realizing that it's not just pregnancy symptoms, I called the gynecologist department on Tuesday morning to ask if I could take any medicines. The nurse listened and said that I probably had flu and I can take paracetamol three times a day. So that morning I started taking paracetamol, but the condition just went away for about 4 to 6 hours (though the headache stayed) then I would start shivering quite badly and had to take another dose. On Thursday I called the hospital once again and they agree to give it a look. I had an ultrasound to see my baby, thankfully still healthy with strong heartbeat and moving actively inside. I mentioned a bit of pain on my lower right abdomen so they asked me to give an urine sample. They found trace of white blood cell in it so I was diagnosed with a mild UTI and given nitrofurantoin for 3 days. So I went home...
That night my fever spiked to 39'c so the next morning we went to the huisarts (because the ob/gyn still recommended me to go to the huisarts for more thorough examination about my fever) and he said that with my high fever and all the nitrofurantoin is not enough. He gave me amoxicillin for 5 days and mentioned that the effect will take 48 hours. So I took my first dose right away. It was quite a hell of 48 hours... during which my fever went crazy to 39 and 40 during the night. It dropped down drastically after 48 hours, that day (yesterday actually, Sunday) I woke up feeling obviously better. I still had headache and spent lots time sleeping. Today all that's left is my "usual" pregnancy symptom; the bitterness in my mouth, hello again there~!
I just realized that I lost weight due to this one annoying week. I'm gonna start getting loaded up again with salmon and spinach, I hope the taste buds will be more cooperative this coming week.
Now that I've typed all about the whole week altogether it seemed like it went okay, but while it happened it was not just a case of physical discomfort... I felt panic not knowing what's happening with my baby, being in 13 weeks I couldn't feel the baby's movement just yet, I know fever can be harmful for my baby so I was feeling so miserable also due to the physical condition. The doctors here were very calm and our huisart especially mentioned that it's not just about the height of the fever but also the condition of the person. So 39 or 40 might be okay for someone especially when they can still get on properly. Huff...... That's kind of a relief but I for sure don't want to go through that again +_+
